America's Black Holocaust Museum, located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, holds as its mission to inform the public of the inequities suffered by African Americans throughout history, and hopefully inspire reflection on racism and equality. The Museum was founded through the efforts of James Cameron, who, after surviving an attempt on his life at age 16, dedicated himself to the pursuit of justice for people of all races. Today, he is the last living survivor of a lynching in America. He was an avid civil rights proponent and collected various objects and items having to do with the history of African-Americans. Eventually, he assembled his collection in a museum, with the assistance of one Daniel Bader. The museum focuses on distinctive periods, which include life in Africa, the passage, slavery, reconstruction, civil rights, and present-day issues.
