The Amtrak Station in Albany Oregon is more commonly known as the Albany Depot. It has the distinction of being the westernmost Amtrak station in the United States. The station dates back to 1909 and is one of the oldest operating stations to date. It was originally constructed for use with the Southern Pacific Railroad. In 2004 the entire station was restored for $11.3 million. The station is open from 8:00 AM to 5:45 PM seven days a week. Routes include Amtrak Cascades which travels from Eugene, Oregon to Vancouver, BC and Coast Starlight which travels down the coast from Seattle to Los Angeles.
