The Amtrak Station in Albion, Michigan was built in 1882 by the Michigan Central Railroad which operated in the town from the year 1844. At that time the rail the station contained a freight house. Another rival station was built by the Lake Shore and Michigan Southern Railroad, but this subsequently closed in the 1920’s. In 1971 Albion Station was abandoned as Amtrak began consolidating its service stations; the station was restored in the 1980s. Today the former freight house contains a bar called Davan’s. Although passengers cannot check baggage here they can bring items on board. Public parking is available. The Wolverine line departs from Albion. Nearby hotels include the Holiday Inn Express, Battle Creek Quality Inn and Hampton Inn.
