Akron Accommodation

Searching for hotels in Akron (United States) or Akron accommodation?  The city of Akron is the seat of Summit County, in Ohio, the United States. It is a large, modern city, with around two hundred thousand residents, that is also fairly new, having been founded in 1825.
The city is easily reached thanks to the Akron Fulton International Airport, or by bus or train from elsewhere in the United States. You could also fly into Akron Canton Regional Airport, or to the nearby Cleveland Hopkins International Airport.
One of the rather unique aspects of the city is its ties to the rubber industry, and in fact, you will probably hear the city referred to as Tire City or Rubber City by residents and visitors during your stay.
Akron has a variety of municipal parks, including the Lock 3 Park in the downtown area. While this is just one of many parks, it is home to the annual Lock 3 Live Music Festival, which draws thousands of visitors.
Lovers of art and history will find plenty to see and do in Akron, with museums and galleries like the National Inventors Hall of Fame, the Akron Art Museum and the Goodyear World of Rubber Museum, to name but a few.
Then again, you could also take a walk along Portage Path; the historic ‘border’ between white and Native American lands, or if you are in town in July, visit the Rib White and Blue festival, among others.
There are, of course, many fine restaurants and hotels in the city, as you would expect in any city of this size. Bars, clubs, and nightlife also abound, and you should have no trouble finding things to keep you busy, day or night.
