or Arnhem accommodation? Arnhem is a fairly large city with a population of 142,000, and is situated in the East of the Netherlands, on the banks of the river Rhine. You can reach Arnhem by car, train, bus or boat.
Arnhem is one of the few cities running trolleybuses for public transportation, or as most local people do, cycle almost everywhere. Openluchtmuseum, an open air museum featuring traditional houses and customs is worth a visit, as are Korenmarkt, Burgers Zoo and Museum voor Moderne Kunst, a small modern art gallery featuring Dutch artists.
A shopping centre called Kronenburg,in the southern part of the city, has a variety of shops, bars and snackshops. The open-air museum has many traditionally made goods to purchase, including food, drinks, to paper and many other items.
There are many different types of restaurants in the city to choose from. In Sonsbeekpark, there is a terrific Chinese restaurant called Sonsbeek Paviljoen, and, at Jansplein, in the heart of the city you will find an Italian restaurant called Zilli & Zilli, which serves classic Italian food on the ground floor and exclusive Italian food on the first floor.
