or Arona accommodation? Arona is a commune and town on Lake Maggiore, in the province of Novara, Italy, and is accessible by plane, boat, train, and car. The town is small and is easily seen on foot. Tourism is its main economic activity, with many visitors from Milan, France, and Germany.
Things to see and do are many in the town, and include the Giant Statue of Saint Charles Borromeo. Construction on this statue began in 1614, and was completed in 1698. At 35.10m, it is the largest standing bronze statue in the world, second only to the Statue of Liberty. La Rocca, is a park, and is a favourite of the locals, where various animals are kept in semi-captivity, all over the park. The Lungolago offers great views of the castle of Angera as well as the Alps, and much more.
Due to Arona being a popular tourist destination, shops and shopping areas are numerous, as well as restaurants, cafes, pubs, and other eateries.
