Balneário Camboriú is a city and a major beach resort in the Brazilian southern state of Santa Catarina. The town sports steep hills rolling down to the sea and is popular among South Americans. This town has a flip side where on one side of the river is very contemporary and the other is rustic, lush greenery and breathtaking beaches. At the souther part of the Camboriú River is a small port which supplies transportations by native fishermen via boats or helicopters to cross the river. At the end of the bondinho beach there is a cable air cab by most modern machinery, an awesome ride across the river, to the mountains where you can view the most beautiful landscape of the region. Once you have reached the other side there a collection of untouched beaches with calm soothing waters that just kisses your skin. For the nudist don’t forget Praia do Pinho publicly known for the nudist practice and big parties in carnival as well as other beaches like Taquaras beach, Laranjeiras Beach just to name a few.The private and in demand Praia do Estaleiro is exclusive and home to many Europeans. Sail round the island from nearby Laranjeiras Beach on 17th century-style pirate ships; the city also has a statue similar to the Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro, called Cristo Luz. Another popular sight in the city is the paragliders that fly along the beach, alongside the tall buildings, from the gliderport in nearby Praia dos Amores, located to the north of the city.
