United States)
or Bridgeton accommodation? Bridgeton is a city located in Cumberland County of New Jersey, United States. It is the seat of the county. It had once been inhabited by indigenous people for thousands of years until settlers moved in and displaced the natives.
It was in 1686 that the first European settlement was built on the area that would become Bridgeton in the future. Still, it was not until March 1, 1865 that the area was incorporated as a township but this was changed to city soon enough. The city was one of those that quickly grew after the American Civil War. Soon, it became a highly industrialized city with numerous factories and machine works.
Today, Bridgeton is home to numerous municipal parks such as the Cohanzick Zoo which is open freely to the public. There are also several points of interest in the city – one of these is the historic Old Broad Street Presbyterian Church Cemetery which is well-maintained and is the burial site of several notable persona such as a Governor of the state and 6 US Congressmen. Other attractions are the Potter's Tavern, Hill Crest Tavern, Nail House Museum, George Woodruff Museum, and the "7 Sisters" which is a row – actually, the oldest row – of commercial buildings in the city.
