It is a part of the greater Brig-Glis Municipality, and is a picture postcard version of what you would expect a Swiss town to look like. The town lies at the foot of the Simplon Pass, near the Saltine Stream, and features a wide variety of historic buildings, from the Italianate houses to the Jesuit’s College, the Castle, and the Ursuline Convent. Being so near to so many of the famous Swiss peaks, Brig is popular with winter sports enthusiasts, and it is a popular base for skiers, snowboarders and other sports enthusiasts.
