It’s high up in the mountains and is a leading tourist attraction. There are two major caves Ngalau Kamang and Ngalau Indah which boasts many stalagmites and stalactites. The Rafflesia Arnoldy Sanctuary, where the largest flower on earth, Rafflesia is. It’s known for its foul smell. Apart from these, there are a few more attractions in and around the town of Bukittinggi. Lobang Jepang, or the Japanese Caves - a network of underground bunkers & tunnels built by the Japanese during World War II, Jam Gadang - a large clock tower built by the Dutch in 1926.
