Calais, being a seaside town has lovely beaches suitable for swimming and other water sports. The beach area tends to be lined with beautiful white huts giving the shore a picturesque look. Here you can soak up as much sun as possible, take a stroll around the promenade pier and take advantage of the biking paths available. The White Cliffs of Dover is a must see. Nightlife in the city is centered around the casino on Rue Royale, the discos in the area and the numerous wine and beer outlets. Alhambra Cinema provides lively entertainment and bowling fans will enjoy visiting Bowling de Calais.
