or Camarillo accommodation? Camarillo, a city in Ventura County of the State of California in the United States, has a motto of “Las personas son la ciudad” or “The people are the city”.
The first known settlers of the land on which Camarillo and the rest of Ventura County is built on are the Chumash Indians; evidence of their stay on the land are displayed at the Ventura County Historical Museum. Then, Juan Cabrillo, a Portuguese navigator found the area and claimed the land in the name of Spain in 1542. When Mexico gained independence from Spain in the early 1820s, land was granted to Jose Pedro Ruiz who built Ranchos Calleguas – this became Camarillo.
Well known attractions in the City of Camarillo include the Southern California Wing's WWII Aviation Museum, Adolfo Camarillo Ranch House, Pleasant Valley Museum and Botanical Garden, and Camarillo Premium Outlets (a shopping destination).
