This small town lies on a rocky outcropping that extends into the Tyrrhenian Sea, and there are pine forests and cliffs all around it, making it a naturally beautiful, if a little wild, area of the coast. Among the pine trees, dotted along the coast, you will find the traditional, brilliantly whitewashed villas that are so typical of Italy. There are also beaches, with white sand, rimmed by cliffs, which are nearby, although these are not tourist beaches, and are unlikely to be crowded. The Castle Pasquini is one of the historic buildings that lie on the coast in this area, although there is also evidence of Roman and Etruscan settlements, and if history and culture do interest you, you should find plenty to keep you busy.
