or Chur accommodation? The town of Chur lies in the Swiss Canton of Graubunden, and is the capital of the region. According to archaeological evidence, the area has been populated since nearly 4000 BC, and it is one of the oldest districts in Switzerland. It also lies at the confluence of several important routes, into the Alps, and into Switzerland and Germany. The town is sharply divided between the modern city in the west, and the historic part of town to the east. In this historic part of town, you will find buildings like the Cathedral of St Lucius, on which building was begun in the 12th century, and completed in the 13th. There is also the Bishops Palace, and the Raetian Museum, which houses a host of artifacts related to the area. More modern, but no less appealing is the Giger Bar, which was designed by world-renowned artist H. R. Giger, and there is an art gallery, several restaurants, and a shopping precinct.
