or Corbett accommodation? Corbett is the home of the infamous Corbett National Park in India named after Jim Corbett who hunted down tigers that had turned man-eaters between 1907 and1939. The park is home to arrange of wildlife animals, plants and over 1,300 acres of forests and grasslands as well as a charming river. There are nearly 500 species of plants and 33 different species of reptiles, 7 different species of amphibians, fish and dragonflies species. While visiting the park, you can check out Dhikala with its spectacular view of the valley, Bijrani famous for being an ancient hunting spot, and Jhirna which is a rest house at the southern boundary of the park. Corbett’s park offers a number of wildlife safaris such as a jeep safari through the mountain and savannahs, an exciting elephant safari through the periphery areas of Corbett Tiger Reserve, forests, valleys and mountain trails and a bird and fishing safari which is very enjoyable. Nature walks are also available through the forests where you can explore the rich diversity of the land. The park is home to endangered species such as the hog deer and the Indian pangolin. The tigers here are simply amazing. The experience of watching herds of elephants trample across the grassland is quite memorable. A variety of sporting activities to complement this fascinating wildlife reserve are readily available in Corbett. These include table tennis, cricket, badminton, archery, beach volleyball and board games like chess, carom and playing cards. You can enjoy sensual massages from trained masseuse at the nearby swimming pool and spa. The natural pool close to the park facilitates leisurely fishing expeditions. The Nature shop with its unique souvenirs and memorabilia as well as the town library should be visited. Gurney House and Jim’s Grill are excellent restaurants to visit, while lively entertainment can be had at the Tusker Bar.
