Searching for hotels in Dartmouth (England) (United Kingdom) or Dartmouth (England) accommodation?  The town of Dartmouth is located in England’s West Country, in Devon. To reach the town, you will need to travel by car, bus, or train. When in the town, walking will take you to most attractions, although you will need to take the ferry to the opposite side of the valley.
Foss Street is a charming remnant of the town’s medieval history, having been first built in the 13th century. There is also a castle, or rather, two castles, built on one site. The first was built around six hundred years ago, and the second a little later than that. The castle was, however, still in use until the Second World War, and is fairly well preserved.
Two ancient churches once stood in the town, but both were rebuilt after being damaged. St Saviors was originally built in the 14th century, and rebuilt at the end of the 17th, and St Petrox was built in the 12th, and rebuilt in the 17th.
Newcomen’s Engine is another attraction in the town, and it is worth visiting this huge engine just to see the sheer size of it.
Of course, there are small restaurants, pubs and other attractions in town, most of which have a quaint, old world charm, and the hotels are no different. You will not find big chain hotels here, but you can stay in small local establishments, with names like Fingals Coombe Dittisham, and the Royal Castle Hotel, among others.
