Dormagen Accommodation

The most well known landmark is the monastery Knechtsteden which is more than 850 years old and is located on a hill overlooking the town. The orchards and Romanesque basilica and the woods surrounding it make the area wonderful to visit.
The district of Zons is another place to visit while in Dormagen, it’s well-preserved and contains walls and towers that was built since the Middle Ages. The most outstanding structure is the 13th century Rhine Tower, which is at a defensive position on the Rhine River banks. There is also an authentic 16th century wooden grinder which is still in operation. The community of Zons is the place for many special celebrations and festivals throughout the year, like the Fairy Tale Games at the theater, an Artisans' Fair, a Medieval Market or an arts and crafts sale.
Sporting and athletic activities is prominent in the area so you can bask in those activities as well. You can also enjoy some hiking and cycling through the forestland in the game park Tannenbusch which contains a wide range of plants, trees and animals as well as a beautiful landscape for you to admire. There are also several archaeological finds in the town which are in the Rheinisches Landesmuseum.
