Some of its streets are steep, and Baldwin Street is claimed to be the steepest street in the world. You can reach Dunedin by plane, train, car or bus and to get around you would use the bus, train or bicycle.
For things to see, a favorite with everyone, is Cadbury World, which offers a guided tour of the Cadbury Chocolate Factory, which accounts for more than 75% of New Zealand’s chocolate production. Other places of interest to see are Robert Burns Statue, The Organ Pipes rock formation, the Royal Albatross Colony and Larnach Castle, and of course, Baldwin Street, which, according to the Guinness Book of Records is the steepest street in the world.
For good, cheap eating, if you’re travelling on a budget, try Satay Noodle House or Circadian Rhythm Vegan Café, or, for a good selection of the freshest local organic produce, check out the Farmer’s Market on Saturday mornings. Other restaurants are Jizo, a Japanese restaurant and Zucchini Bros., which serves fantastic pizza and pasta.
