It is located just a few minutes drive from Boston and visitors may arrive through the Logan International Airport. The town is primarily a residential community that has experienced positive trade growth in the recent years.
Four historical buildings that are worth visiting stand in the town of Easton–the Ames Free Library, the Oakes Ames Memorial Hall, the Old Colony Raildroad Station and the Ames Gate Lodge. All four buildings have the distinct arches that show Romanesque architectural style. The prominent Ames family were said to be responsible for these buildings with the help of architect H. Richardson.
The Borderland State Park, where the Ames’ home built in 1910 still stands, is also located in Easton and will be a good place to visit for sports enthusiasts. The park is open daily from 8 a.m. until sunset, all year round. The park’s hiking trail stretches to about 20 miles. Visitors can also go fishing, canoeing, biking and picnicking.
