The four largest parks in the area include Peter Pan Park, Hammond Park, Soden’s Grove Park and Jones Park, all of which have areas for disc golf, tennis, picnics, even fishing. The Emporia Recreational Center is the place for tennis, volleyball, basketball and other forms of recreation and sports. Golf enthusiasts will enjoy a round of golf in the city’s Municipal Golf course which regularly hosts numerous corporate and personal tournaments.

For swimming, the city has the Jones Aquatic Center which was opened in 2002. The center comes complete with water slides, sprinkling waterfalls, a basketball and a river.
