The summer season is an especially busy time with the Ayia Napa International Festival in September which is a popular event featuring exciting processions, folk museum, feasting and dancing. The Iskele Festival is another major event held each year in June which incorporates several aspects of Famagusta’s heritage. There is also an entertaining film festival in the town.
