Searching for hotels in Fukushima (Japan) or Fukushima accommodation?  Fukushima is the capital city of Fukushima prefecture in Honshu, Japan. The city can be reached by plane, train and bus. To get around the city it is best to walk or take a taxi as the buses and trains take you out of Fukushima. One of the most beautiful attractions of the city, visited by many, are the Five Colored Lakes. They were formed after Mount Bandai erupted in the 1800’s, and the mineral from the eruption gave each of the lakes a different color. Iwaya-Kannon has sixty Buddhas carved into the rock face of Mount Shinobu and offers a decent place to take a look down at the city. More places of interest include Hanamiyama Park, quickly becoming famous throughout Japan for cherry blossom viewing in spring. After a rather steep walk up a small mountain, you will be able to enjoy peace and quiet at the Fukushima Small Bird Sanctuary. The Prefectural Art Museu, Prefectural Cultural Museum and the Fukushima Museum are also worth a visit. The first Friday and Saturday in August is when the Waraji Festival is held and involves much dancing, parades, food stalls and a huge waraji ( a Japanese sandal). There are a few good restaurants in the area, one of which is Mana’s Rasoi, which serves great, authentic Indian food and has excellent service. Izakayas and beer gardens abound in Fukushima and Passeo Dori and the roads branching from it are where the best places can be found.
