or Giulianova accommodation? The town of Giulianova lies in the Teramo province of central Italy, and is both a town, and an independent municipality or commune. This town in the Abruzzo region has two very distinct and very different districts. The first, known as the Paese, is the old town, or the historic part of the town, and it lies in the hills. The Lido, however, with its resorts, modern business and amenities, lies at the beach. Giulianova is an ancient city, first settled in pre roman times, but most of the historic sites in the city are from more recent eras. These include the Church of Santa Maria a Mare, which dates back to before the 11th century, although parts of the structure have been rebuilt and repaired over the years. The Cathedral of San Flaviano, which is from the 14th century, is another must see, and its distinctive dome is clearly dominant on the town skyline from most parts of the town.
