or Grimaud accommodation? Majestically located on the French Riviera, Grimaud is a coastal medieval town in France’s Var Department. The town’s 11th century castle is one of its main highlights and is certainly worth exploring. Grimaud’s Venetian port should also be visited as it boasts a remarkable architecture and boating tours of the canals. Several other opportunities for water sports exist in the commune including jet skiing, kayaking, paddling and parachuting.
St. Michael’s Church, built during the Roman era, is a lovely historical monument in the town. The 11th century chapel of Notre Dame de la Queste, the Penitent’s Chapel from the 15th century and the 18th century St. Rooch’s chapel are other important monuments in Grimaud. The town’s fairy bridge known as the Pont des Fees built in the 1500s should not be missed. You can also visit St. Roch’s Windmill and the flower covered ancient burgesses’ houses. Heritage tours of the town will take you to the impressive Folk Museum, the oratories, the three marked footpaths and other historical sites. The Museum of Arts and Traditions can also be visited.
While in Grimaud, you can take advantage of the numerous leisure facilities both in the town and around the Riviera. Yachting, bowling, golf, tennis and yoga facilities are all available. Paradise Cruises provide adventurous walking tours at sea. Many good restaurants can be found in the town. Cultural events such as the Musical Evenings of Grimaud in November and the Advent Evening in December are worth participating in. A rich taste of the commune can be had at the annual Christmas Tasting of the 13 Desserts while the New Year’s Eve festivities are very exciting to attend.
