or Helmsley accommodation? The market town and civil parish of Helmsley lies in Ryedale, North Yorkshire, in England. It is a small town, and lies in a beautiful area of the country, with the River Rye flowing through the town, and the green hills of Yorkshire surrounding it. The Helmsley Walled Garden is located on the edge of town, and is one of the biggest attractions in Helmsley, along with the Cleveland Way, which passes the garden. Another major attraction in the town is Helmsley Castle, which, although ruined, is still a major feature in the landscape, and looms over the town. Duncombe Park, the ancestral home of the Earls of Feversham is also behind the castle, and there is a statue of one of the Earls in the town square.
