If you’re in Hiroshima the last week in October, don’t miss the food festival. Here you will find foods from all over the world, to local favorites. There is also a flea market as well, usually with some cultural performances at the castle in the evening. It is free, you only pay for what you eat. As can be imagined, there are a multitude of enormous shopping malls in Hiroshima, where visiting tourists can shop to there hearts delight for days on end, as these places have practically everything to offer. Here you can start in the morning, spend the day shopping and when you need to eat there are many restaurants to choose from to satisfy your hunger, and you are definitely sure of finding the souvenirs you want to buy to take home. Some budget restaurants that can be found in Hiroshima are, Jupiter Import Foods, Okonomi-mura, Organ-za, Otis. There are many more to choose from and are all over the city. If it’s mid-range you’re looking for, you will not be disappointed. Some of them are Cusco Carfe, J Café, Kurobutaya, Nanak and Spicy Bar Lal’s. If it’s expensive dining you are looking for, Creative Sushi Nobu, Shabucchin Shabu Shabu, Sumojaya Takabayama, or for a really relaxing meal, you can try the floating restaurant called the Kanawa, an oyster boat docked just outside of Peace Park. Here you will enjoy some of the tastiest oysters in Horoshima along with traditional décor and beautiful views of the river. There are a number of good, quiet wine bars on Hakushima-dori, and many foreigner-friendly pubs clustered around the PARCO building, if you’re looking for somewhere to go to waste an evening in a fun way. There are quite a few hotels, hostel, and guesthouses that fall into the budget accommodation category. Some of the mid-range hotels are Hotel Active!, Comfort Hotel Hiroshima, Dormy Inn and the Via Inn.
