Honfleur is a city in the Norman département of Calvados in France, located on the southern bank of the estuary of the Seine, very close to the exit of the Pont de Normandie. It is especially known for its old, beautiful picturesque port, characterized by its houses with slate-covered frontages, painted many times by artists. Honfleur is the oldest seafaring city in France, as this was the home port of the seamen who made their great voyages to Canada. It main attraction is the Sainte-Catherine church, which has a bell-tower separating it from the principal building, and is the largest church made out of wood in France. Another place you may visit is the St. Etienne Church which now houses the Musee De La Marine that exhibits crafts from the sea and topography of the port.
