or Hull accommodation? The town of Kingston Upon Hull is usually just referred to as Hull, and is located on the banks of the Humber Estuary, in the county of Yorkshire, England. The city has a long and interesting history, and prides itself on being just a little different. To reach this city, you can fly directly to Humberside International Airport from several European and other cities, or from major domestic airports. You could also opt for a train from London or any one of several other major cities and towns, or you could choose to take a bus, a boat, or drive yourself. A recently face lifted bus service makes getting around easy, although the city centre is pedestrianized, so walking is another option. Hull was quiet heavily bombed during the second world war, however, luckily, many of the architectural landmarks survived. Many of these old, interesting buildings are dotted throughout the city, and some have been converted into modern restaurants, shops, and businesses. Queen Victoria Square is the heart of the city, and here you will find City Hall, and the Maritime Museum, as well as other attractions, like the Ferens Art Gallery, which is free to enter. Queens Gardens on the other hand are at the top of the country’s largest dock, and home to the Mick Ronson Memorial Stage, where summer concerts are a regular feature, and the statue of Robinson Crusoe, among other interesting sights. The Trinity Quarter is named for the beautiful Trinity Church that is at its heart, and, as per its name, the Museum Quarter is where most of the museums in this city are. These include the Transport Museum, and Wilberforce House, where the famous William Wilberforce was born. The Princess Quay shopping centre is an experience in itself, as much for the retail opportunity, as for the walk into the centre over the glass floor, with the sea below. Then, why not visit the historic pubs in the city, such as the 17th century Ye Olde White Harte, or the Sailmakers Arms. The Holiday Inn hotel is located near the marina, in the centre of the city, making it a perfect location, but there are several other fine chain and local hotels to choose from, so you should have no trouble finding accommodation. - Browse the Hull Map or compare Hull accommodation from Hotels, Motels, B&Bs,
