or Indio accommodation? The City of Indio belongs to the Riverside County of California, the United States; it is situated in the Coachella Valley. The city’s name is a Spanish term for Indian. In the 1970s, the city was well known as the “Hub of the Valley”. Today, the city has a total land area of 69.1 square kilometers with no water body.
Laid out by A.G. Tingman in 1894, the town was jointly funded by millionaire railroad tycoon and landowner, Henry E. Huntington. It was chosen as a railroad stop because of its location just midway between Los Angeles in California and Yuma in Arizona.
