Russia)
or Irkutsk accommodation? The city of Irkutsk is one of the largest in Siberia, Russia, and is the administrative capital of Irkutsk Oblast. It is a large city, with a population of nearly six hundred thousand, but it is over five thousand kilometers from Moscow. To reach Irkutsk, you can fly into either Irkutsk International Airport, or Irkutsk Northwest Airport, or you could choose to drive if you have a lot of time! Both the Trans Siberian Highway and the Federal road to Vladivostok run through Irkutsk. Make sure that you visit the open air Taltsy Museum, on the outskirts of the city, where you can see the traditional architecture of the area. Other historic sites in the city include the railway station, the Kazansky church with its brightly colored façade, and the Epiphany Minster. Other landmarks that are well worth visiting are the monastery, the fort, and the old port, or you could spend some time exploring the rivers that criss cross the city. Make sure that you buy a pair of Kamusi while in the city – these elk or deerskin boots are similar to modern Ugg boots, but with traditional appeal. Other souvenirs include lacquer boxes, and woodcarvings. - Browse the Irkutsk Map or compare Irkutsk accommodation from Hotels, Motels, B&Bs,
