or Janesville accommodation? Janesville is a city in the state of Wisconsin. The city was host to the very first Wisconsin State Fair in the year 1851 in which almost 100,000 people from all over the country attended.
Janesville is the location of several famous and documented racist altercations. The most notable altercation involved a cross burning which occurred in 1992, the site of which is currently known as ‘Peace Park.’ The park has a ‘peace pole’ in the center and is the world’s tallest ‘peace pole’ with a height of 52 feet.
The city is also home to some of the most notable buildings listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Some of these historic places are the Lincoln Tallman House, the Columbus Circle neighborhood and the former Janesville Public Library.
With its 53 parks, Janesville is also popularly known as ‘Wisconsin’s Park Place’ or the ‘City of Parks.’ Major parks in the city are the Riverside Park, Rotary Gardens, Traxler Park, Rockport Park, and Monterey Park. The parks listed are home to tourist attractions including the Rock Aqua Jays, Ice Age Trail, Big Rock and Rock River.
