Visit the ruins of Palies eklisies, an old church from the 18th century. There is also an exhume building from the Hellenistic period. The beach in Kalamaki is its main attraction. It is extended to over 3km long and bathed with fine golden sand. View the Caretta-Caretta tortoises which lay their eggs on the beach, among the sandbank of Kalamaki. The beach also offers an exceptional view, which extends to the resort town of Agia Galini and at a distance on the horizon to Paximadia, the two small islands of the Messara gulf. Started developing from the 1960’s, it features the necessary amenities for a modern, tourist seaside resort and such has restaurants, bars, hotels and rooms to rent. There are boats with glass bottoms, from which you may watch the turtles in their natural environment. There are also small boats that take tourists to remote beaches. Take the opportunity to visit Marathonissi Island, where the beach is also a reproduction area of the Caretta turtle. Town-hop to neighbouring towns like Kamilari and the main town of Laganas and explore their attractions.

Attend The Carnival festivities in neigbouring Kamilari and Zakynthos. Othere events include the Celebration of Holy Week (Easter), The Feast of Agios Dionysios, Wine Feast, Feast of the Virgin Mary among others.
