Museums and landmarks are in abundance to, and whether you choose to visit Quaid-e-Azam’s Mausoleum, probably the most famous landmark, the PIA Planetarium, or the National Museum of Pakistan, or any one of a number of other fine attractions, you could be busy for weeks exploring the city’s history and culture.
If you’re travelling with children, there are also many sights to see, like the water parks, Aladdin Amusement Park and Karachi Zoo, and with ice skating, horse riding and other sporting activities, there’s sure to be something to keep everyone amused.
Shopping in Karachi is another pass time, and with everything from hand made carpets, to leather goods, electronics, clothes and more on offer at mega malls like The Forum and Park Towers (both in Clifton) or at traditional souks and bazaars, there’s something for everyone there too.
Restaurants abound in Karachi, but to sample local cuisine in amazing surroundings, Lal Qila with it’s 17th century Moghul style décor, and abundant buffet is a must. Unlike many other countries in the area, while Pakistan, and Karachi do adhere to Islamic law in a broad sense, there are clubs and bars that you can visit, either at hotels, or bars and clubs like the Casbah, Purple Haze, and others.
