or Kendal accommodation? The market town of Kendal, in Cumbria, England, is home to around thirty thousand residents. It is known as the ‘Gateway to the Lakes’ and is a pleasant, pretty town to visit. Buses and trains from major centers make it easy to get to Kendal, although you could choose to drive, however, once there, walking is an easy and pleasant way to experience the town. When in Kendal, you can choose to spend some time exploring the banks of the River Kent, which runs through the town, or you could visit one of several other attractions. The Quaker Tapestry Museum and the Abbot Hall Art Museum are two of these, and the Kendal Parish Church is another. Outside of town, you can hike on the Scouts Scar, a trail that leads into the hills, with the aid of a map available from the tourism office. Whatever you do choose to do while in Kendal however, make sure that you sample the local delicacy, Kendal Mint Cake, which was invented in the town in 1936. - Browse the Kendal Map or compare Kendal accommodation from Hotels, Motels, B&Bs,
