South Australia)
or Keswick accommodation? The town of Keswick is small, pretty, and situated in the heart of the Lake District National Park. It is this pristine natural location that makes it so popular with lovers of the outdoors. While you will not find any trains to this Cumbrian town, there are buses from Penrith, or you could choose to drive yourself, and while there, walking will take you to all of the sights in town. Of course, for destinations outside of the town, there are also buses, and if you would like to explore the lake, there are launches. One of the unique attractions within the town of Keswick is the Cumberland Pencil Museum. Thanks to the discovery of graphite nearby, the town has had a three hundred and fifty year history as a pencil manufacturer, and this museum celebrates that. Another interesting place to visit is Cars of the Stars, which is a museum, dedicated to motion picture and television vehicles. Then there’s hiking, with plenty of choice, ranging from lakeside walks to more challenging trails into the hills, and the three thousand foot hill, Skiddaw. Traditional pubs are also plentiful in Keswick, and whether you choose to enjoy local dishes like roast lamb or Borrowdale trout, or a real ale, establishments like the Four in Hand, the Dog and Gun, and the Bank Tavern are the perfect place to do just that. - Browse the Keswick Map or compare Keswick accommodation from Hotels, Motels, B&Bs,
