Ko Samet Accommodation

Searching for hotels in Ko Samet (Thailand) or Ko Samet accommodation?  The island of Ko Samet is located in the Rayong Province of Thailand, quite near to the capital city of Bangkok. It is quieter than some of the other Thai islands, but that does make it perfect if you are looking for a relaxing holiday.
The island is drier than the rest of the country, although there are occasional storms, and, thanks to an alleged occupation by pirates, is surrounded in mystery and legend. The island is reached by bus, train, or car, followed by a ferry trip across the water.
The beaches are, as with most Thai islands, the biggest attraction on the island, but there are a few other sights to see, and events to participate in. For instance, if you visit in May, you can experience the Rayong Fruit Festival, and there are several other festivals throughout the year.
At the Ploy Thalee restaurant, there are nightly fire shows, and hiking, yoga, windsurfing, and fishing are all activities that are enjoyed on the island. You could even learn a little Muay Thai, or Thai boxing, while you are on the island.
Since the island relies so heavily on tourism, there are many, many resorts to choose from, of varying price and quality. In fact, many visitors find accommodation on the island simply by walking down the beach until they find one that they like!
