or Konya accommodation? The city of Konya is located in the Central Anatolia region of Turkey, with an interesting history and culture, and a variety of attractions and entertainments. The city was once the capital of the Sultanate of Rum, and is known for its whirling dervishes. Turkish Airlines, and a few other European airlines, have regular flights to Konya Airport. There are also trains from Istanbul and a few other cities, as well as buses. Self-driving is another option, and, once in Konya, buses, taxis and trams, as well as the local dolmus mini bus taxis, will get you around. The Mausoleum of Rumi, or Mevlana Museum, is one of the main attractions in the city of Konya, and it is here where the great thinker Rumi is interred. There is also an extensive collection of exhibits devoted to his life. The 13th century Ipliki Mosque is another historic site worth a visit, and the Ince Minare Museum, housed in a 13th century madrasah or school, is another must see. There are several other cultural and historic attractions in and around the city, including the man made hill, Alaaddin hill, and the Seljuk Palace ruin.
