The Museum of Karcula displays artifacts relevant to the island’s history. Museum Maximillian Vanka houses permanent artwork of famous painters.
In Korcula, the main activities are fishing, scuba diving and windsurfing. Major beaches include Beach Banje, Beach Mandrac Sveti Nikola, and Beach Ispod Duvana Sveti Nikola. The Association of Korcula Visual Artist has an annual art exhibition fair in the town each summer which is very interesting. The traditional Sword dance which recaptures dramatic historical battles is well worth watching and even participating in. The town has a building which is said to be the birthplace of the famous explorer Marco Polo. Many delectable local dishes can be had at the numerous restaurants in Korcula town. You can even visit the nearby village of Orebic for a taste of their scrumptious Octopus Salad. The two nightclubs in the town offer an enjoyable time to those seeking an active nightlife.
