Kortrijk features a wide array of museums which includes Kortrijk 1302a nd interactive museum, the Museum of Fine Arts placed in an old 18th-century mansion and National line museum which highlights its history.The town is encircled by remnants of ancient walls. Located in Kortrijk are a castle, a belfry tower, a 16th-century town hall built in a late gothic-renaissance style, the Gothic Church of Our Lady in which the golden spurs of the defeated knights where hung and one of the most noteworthy monuments in Kortrijk is the Maiden of Flanders. Behind the Church of Our Lady is the Begijnhofstraat and the St. Elisabeth Beguinage which consists of about 40 small houses dating back to the 17th century. Our Lady's Church is the oldest building in town (13th century). It was part of the town's fortifications and the Belfry is the only remaining part of the medieval Cloth-Halls. The Broel Towers date back to the middle Ages and are the oldest remaining parts of the city fortifications. Beside these there are many other must see attractions like the International Rose Garden and the Lace & Linen museum. Visit neighbouring town like Brussel, Antwerpen, the medieval town of Gentand Brugge whose city centre a Unesco Heritage site.
Kortrijk is host to several annual celebrations which includes the Kortrijk Festival, Flanders Festival, Easter Funfair and Sinksen Festival among others.
