Some of the longest beaches in the Mediterranean are in Laganas. The island can be explored in one day by taking a boat cruise around it. You can also tour Zante's phenomenal sea caves. Swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving and other aquatic activities are readily available.
For those wishing to tour the rest of Lagans, a number of museums, historic sites and galleries exist in the town. These include the Adamieion Ceramic Art Studio, Ambeloravdis Tower, Askos Animal Park and Bochali. There is also the Fun Castle and Reptile House, the Hanne Mi Ceramic Art Studio, and the Keri Lighthouse and caves. Museums include the Museum of Byzantine Art, the Museum of Zakynthian Nature and the Museum of Zakynthos. The Monasteries of Aghios Ioannes Prodromos and Theotokos Anaphonetria are worth visiting.
