United States)
or Lebanon (Tennessee) accommodation? Lebanon was originally inhabited by Native American Indians who dotted the landscape with their traditional burial mounds and fortified villages. The town was formally recognized in 1801 and the city was officially incorporated on November 23, 1819. It is located right in the center of Tennessee, east of Nashville. It also known as ‘Cedar City” because of the abundance of cedar trees in the area, the main reason why it was named Lebanon after the Biblical city of cedars.
Lebanon holds the distinction as one of the prettiest towns in the state long before the Civil war began. It is the home of Cumberland University which opened in Lebanon in September 1842. The Nashville Superspeedway is located just outside the city. Lebanon is also the home of the Annual Wilson County Fair, known as the best County Fair in Tennessee. It experienced major industrial growth right after World War II with the establishment of the first industrial park in the state which became the home of such companies as Luggage, TRW and Cracker Barrel Old Country Store.
One major attraction that lures visitors to the city is the historic Lebanon Town Square which is now the home to a number of antique stores and gift shops. - Browse the Lebanon (Tennessee) Map or compare Lebanon (Tennessee) accommodation from Hotels, Motels, B&Bs,
