United Kingdom)
or Lewes (England) accommodation? Lewes is a country town of East Sussex, which can be reached by train or bus. There is also a bus available to get around the town, but it is so small, that walking is a pleasure. Guy Fawkes was started here, and is celebrated on Nov 5th with parades through town and fireworks displays. This is such a popular event, that the town is closed to traffic and more trains are laid on from Brighton, to allow more people to attend. Other things to do in the town include a visit to Lewes Castle and Southover Grange Gardens. The town has managed to stay “old”, and you will enjoy looking through and buying old clothing, art, second hand books and antiques. The town even has its own currency, which, of course, is only valid in Lewes. Most of the pubs in the area have food to offer, these include The Elephant & Castle, John Harvey Tavern and The Swan’s Bill. These pubs are all well worth a visit if you are in town centre and want to have a drink and a bite to eat. The White Hart Hotel, the 16th century Whit Hart Inn or The Dorset are some of the hotels you might like to try for accommodation. - Browse the Lewes (England) Map or compare Lewes (England) accommodation from Hotels, Motels, B&Bs,
