Historically, the city was founded in September 4, 1781 by Spanish colonizers which were led by Felipe de Neve. Los Angeles was formerly a part of the country of Mexico in 1821 but was later sold to the United States after the Mexican-American war in 1848.

This is due to the fact that the city is part of the so-called Pacific Ring of Fire in such that several geological fault lines abound the area. Besides this disadvantage, it has still evolved as one of the foremost future cities in the world whose expansion and modernization is continuous and never ending.
