or Manaus accommodation? Manaus is the capital city of Amazonas and a popular ecotourism resort in Brazil. It can be found at the joining of the Negro and Solimões rivers. Swimming and canoeing in rivers and beaches make for an excellent pastime. The Panta Negra Beach features an exciting nightlife, a small but interesting zoo and an orchid greenhouse. Manaus hosts a lot of festivals including the grand carnival event in February, Amazona Opera Festival in May, The Jazz Festival in July and the Film Festival in November. Cinema festivals are also held. Bio Manaus in Otober celebrates north Brazil culture with Bio Bumba music.
To explore Manaus’ history and culture, you can take a trip to the Natural Science Museum and the Teatro Amazonas built in 1896. Rio Negro Palace presents a great explorative experience. The CIGS Zoo is a military zoo for rescue animals and features a wide variety of animal species. The Federal University of Amazonas is home to the largest urban forest in the world. You can get a full taste of Manaus by visiting the Mercado Adolpho Lisboa which is the oldest market place. Here you can stock up on exotic fruits, plants and other Amazonian produce.
