While it has been eclipsed by other towns in recent years, it is very near London – less than a two hour train ride, which means it still sees quite a large crowd of tourists and visitors. Visit the beach, or walk through the clock tower and seafront area, with it’s typically English chip shops, amusement park rides and other attractions, or take the time to track down the Shell Grotto – a cave that is lined completely in sea shells. At the harbor visitor centre, you can explore the history of the town’s connection to the world renowned artist, Turner, then sample the local favorite ‘stick of rock’ candy, and head off to one of many bars.
