or Marina del Rey accommodation? Marina del Rey is an unincorporated area in Los Angeles County in California, United States. According to the Los Angeles Times in 1997, the harbor in the area is probably the most valuable resource of the country. This harbor has 19 marinas capable of servicing 5,300 boats at a time; it is also the largest man-made harbor for small boats in the United States.
This harbor is on a place that had once been a salt-marsh area that was turned into a commercial port by M.C. Wicks’ Ballona Development Company beginning in 1888 but the company went bankrupt. Still, it was not until 1953 that the marina was constructed with a $2-million fund.
Fisherman's Village, Burton W. Chace Park, and the Villa Marina Marketplace are some of the most interesting places in the area.
