Italy)
or Marinella di Selinunte accommodation? Selinunte, as it is locally known, is a village on the south coast of Scicily, Italy and is most famous for the neighboring ruins of the Greek city of Selinus. Several buses run from outside the railway station in Castelvetrano to Selinunte. Be prepared to wait a while though, as the timetables are not entirely reliable. You can reach the village by train or bus. As with all archeological parks, it is a pedestrian area, but there is an electric bus that runs up and down the park taking you from the Temples area to the Acropolis through the harbor. The Selinius complex is large and very impressive with excellent views over the coastline beyond. There are three temples close to the entrance, and further on is the Acropolis, which has some monumental protective walls, especially the North Gate. Inside are another four temples, all in various stages of repair. The beaches are wonderful and very quiet, which makes for a perfectly relaxing day out. There are a couple of good bars in the village in front of the small harbor, which serve snacks all year round. During high season, there are also some very good restaurants open. - Browse the Marinella di Selinunte Map or compare Marinella di Selinunte accommodation from Hotels, Motels, B&Bs,
