or Martina Franca accommodation? Martina Franca, with a population of about 50,000, is a town in the province of Taranto, Apulia, in Italy. The town has hosted the summer opera festival, the Festival della Valled’Ltria, since 1975.
There is a really beautiful “old city” in the town, which is surrounded by stone walls, with lovely Baroque gates, which lead to the piazzas, and small winding streets. The largest space in the old city is the Piazza di Romana, which has a large, triangular green section in the center.
The scenery in and around the town is spectacular, and invites one to go on long walks to enjoy it fully. Martina Franca also has much in the way of history to offer the visitor.
