It is a popular bathing place in Vrindavana. In the centre of the town lies the Dwarkadish Temple built in 1814. It draws the most visitors each year. There is also the Rangji Temple boasting traditional South Indian gopuram surrounded by high walls. It is recommended that you take a trip to the Archeological Museum of Mathura.
Car lovers will enjoy the grand car festival known as the Brahmotsava held each year from March to April and lasting for ten days. During the month of the Hindu Phalguna (February to March) the Holi Festival is kept for several days. It involves a colorful procession with lively music, dance and getting soaked in paint. The Gaura Purnima and Nandagram are other festivals celebrated in the same month. You can also enjoy nighttime events such as Phalen which is held on a new moon night each February. This event is extraordinary in that a huge bon fire is created through which a priest walks untouched by the flames. A host of other religious festivals and sites are common in the town.
