or Medina accommodation? Medina is a village in New York that straddles the two towns of the Shelby and Ridgeway, bisected in some parts by the Erie Canal. Parts of the village were once owned by Joseph Ellicot, an agent of the Holland Land Company, especially land that surrounded the area that would soon become the village. Economic growth started to occur when the canal was opened and started to flow inside the village.
The village is known for Medina sandstone, which is a kind of stone used in most buildings in the country. One of the most famous attractions in the village is St. John’s Episcopal Church, which is a church in the middle of the road. This attraction was even entered in Ripley’s Believe It or Not.
The village is also famous for the Culvert, which is the only part of the road which passes under the Erie Canal. Another attraction is the Medina Railroad Museum, one of the largest railroad and toy museums in New York. Visitors are more than welcome to the village, which also has a number of shops, restaurants, cafes and bed and breakfasts that cater to locals and tourists alike.
A perfect place to stay in Medina is Dollinger’s Courtyard motel, located in Maple Ridge Road. - Browse the Medina Map or compare Medina accommodation from Hotels, Motels, B&Bs,
